The company are world leaders in providing specialist products to the Aerospace, Automotive and Power Generation industries, to name but a few, and they are looking to attract the best talent into their business. Currently they are looking to appoint an experienced Production Manager into the company to drive the engineering function forward.
The main purpose of the role is to manage, direct and coordinate the overall activities of the department including assigning staff and hourly rated personnel, resources and the application of manufacturing and general company policies.
Key responsibilities of the Production Manager:
Maintain strict observance of safe working practices within the plant.
Ensure production programmes are met making optimum use of various resources, including approved outwork.
Control groups in respect of progress achieved and problems arising and in providing them with current data.
Maintain quality standards and ensure production processes are carried out according to established procedures.
Continually improve operator performance and production plant performance.
Liaise with suppliers and establish suitable outwork - this will include visiting premises to negotiate cost, quality and delivery.
Exercise overall responsibility for training, safety, morale, discipline and promotion of assigned personnel.
Skills and experience you will need to fulfil the Production Manager role:
Degree educated within an Engineering discipline
Minimum of 5 years' experience within an engineering environment in a management role.
Ability to meet requirements within demanding timescales.
Self-motivated - able to set own goals and deliver against them.
Demonstrable experience of leading a motivating large teams.
Solution orientated and an analytical problem solver.
£55,000 - £60,000
Quarterly bonus scheme - this generally equate to 10% of your base salary.
