Salary £35k to £40k with overtime, 26 days holiday Bank Holidays and company vehicle
The company are a global leader in the Bulk Material Handling industry. They have over one thousand employees and are starting to expand their business further within the UK. The UK office is based in the heart of the midlands and due to phenomenal success they have an exciting opportunity for a Service Manager to join the business.
The title for this opportunity is Service Manager. However, the position does not require a man manager. It requires a hands on engineer who is experience in maintenance, service and installation.
Approaching existing customers within the UK and Ireland to offer service/maintenance contracts.
Calculating and preparing the offer documentation/invoices when required, using templates/guidelines as prepared by supporting colleagues from the UK and Germany.
Performing maintenance and service tasks at the customer's site.
Following training from Germany, talk customer through front-end control/operator interface of plant operating system. Interrogate system when fault finding.
Writing concise yet detailed reports following a visit to a customer's site.
Visiting customer's sites in case of breakdowns/technical problems. Performing fault finding/problem solving tasks.
Provide occasional cover to handle daily spares enquiries (full training to be given).
Technical support/advice via telephone/email etc when requested by an existing customer.
Preparing offers for new and existing customers for the installation of new systems and system extensions (the actual system being offered by Germany). This means obtaining quotes from local (UK and Irish) mechanical and electrical installation contractors, and evaluating these companies to establish their suitability.
Supervising the installation of new systems, being responsible for contractors as described in the previous point. (Initially "small" installations only. Full support available from Germany.)
Compile simple training programs and delivering training to customer's operators/engineers.
When appropriate, providing support to sales staff with regard to projects within the territory.
On occasion it may be that Germany requests the services of the Employee on projects outside of the UK and Ireland.
Experienced Service and Installation Engineer is required, preferably with an electrical bias but Mechanical will be considered.
Background in either Bulk Handling, Process, Plant is required
HNC qualified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
Flexibility in travelling to different destinations throughout the UK and Ireland and to attend a full training program in Germany.
