Working for a leader in providing operational services to the onshore pipeline sector, we are looking to recruit an experienced Network Technician / Engineer to join the team on a 12 - 18 month fixed term contract.
The main scope of the role will be to provide operational support for the operational systems networks to maintain reliability and integrity. Develop network and IT systems to improve performance and cyber security management.
Key duties of the Network Technician / Engineer:
Provide support to maintain IT systems in use at various locations in consultation with the Systems Engineer.
Support the Systems Engineer to maintain aspects of the SCADA control system to achieve continued availability.
Maintain network security and make necessary improvements to comply with latest standards.
Complete allocated engineering projects associated with the SCADA systems and provide detail for the technical change process.
Configure network changes and update of procedures and drawing as instructed.
Maintain documentation and asset register.
Complete required tasks at company sites to meet planned and preventative maintenance requirements including upgrade and replacement of hardware and software.
Skills and experience required:
Degree or HNC level within a relevant discipline.
Network infrastructure experience essential.
Experience of hands on maintenance, configuration and fault finding on network systems typically involving CISCO router and switches.
Knowledge of cyber security standards and networking devices.
Proficient knowledge of standard networked IT hardware and software including telecommunications systems.
Full UK driving licence.
