Product Design Engineer

A market leader in consumer electronics is looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join their product development team. Based in Warwickshire, you will benefit from a starting salary of up to £35k plus benefits and excellent career opportunities.

As Design Engineer, responsibilities will include;

• Designing and developing sustainable products, components, and systems that align with the company’s environmental and customer-focused goals.
• Leading product validation and testing to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.
• Staying ahead of industry trends and integrating emerging technologies and practices into design processes.
• Ensuring all designs comply with relevant regulations and meet required performance standards.
• Creating comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including detailed drawings and engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Delivering cost-effective and functionally sound design solutions within project constraints.
• Supporting the wider engineering team with additional tasks as needed.

Key skills needed for the Design Engineer:

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, a BTEC Higher National Certificate (or equivalent), or completion of an engineering apprenticeship.
• Proven ability to solve complex problems and develop sustainable design solutions.
• Experience working with plastic materials in product design.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to produce clear, concise technical reports.
