Job Details

Due to increasing demand, a company in Derby who supply to the rail industry are expanding the business and are now in need of a NDT Engineer/Director to join the team. In return they are prepared to offer an attractive salary package, alongside a company vehicle and excellent career prospects.

Applicants require railway experience, must hold both a Level 3 NDT and a PCN ultrasonic qualification relating to axle4 testing, along with a full driving licence. Candidates applying for the NDT engineer/Director role can be based in Derby or the surrounding areas.

Responsibilities of the NDT Engineer/Director

  • Manage, develop and build on MEG's current portfolio of rail NDT customers.
  • Develop client relationships to enable new revenue streams within the rail and associated industries.
  • Recruit and direct additional NDT support staff when and where required.
  • Deliver level 3 NDT services to rail customers around the UK.
  • Undertake NDT on-site testing on various rail vehicles around the UK including NDT operator assessments and specialist audit support service when required.

Requirements for the successful NDT Engineer/Director

  • PCN level 3 rail NDT professional with in depth understanding of NDT.
  • Able to develop and produce rail related NDT.
  • PCN Ultrasonic qualifications relating to axle testing.
  • Full driving Licence.
  • PCN Level 2 MPI/DPI (desirable).

In return the NDT Engineer/Director will receive:

  • Salary range from £35k to £40k.
  • Overtime Available.
  • 25 days Bank Holidays.
  • Fully expense company vehicle.
  • Bonus scheme.
