A specialist vehicle conversion business is looking to hire a Design Engineer. Based in Tamworth you'll be designing plastic body kits for fire-engines, breakdown and recovery vehicles and custom builds. Design, manufacture and installation is all done on site. On top of a salary of £30,000 you'll also receive 24 days holiday (plus bank holidays) and pension.

As Design Engineer will you be responsible for:

  • Design parts, assemblies and whole products from brief through to production.
  • Detailed mechanical design using Solidworks.
  • Work closely with customers throughout the design process.
  • Liaise with internal manufacturing team to resolve any production issues.

The successful Design Engineer will have:

  • Proven experience as a Product Design Engineer or Mechanical Engineer.
  • Qualified to degree level in either PhD, MSc, MA, MEng, BA, BEng or BSc Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, Product or Innovation Engineering.
  • Experience in plastic fabrication or injection moulding.
  • 3D CAD (such as ProE, wildfire, CREO, solidworks, solid-works).
