Due to winning additional contracts they now have a new opportunity for a Setting Out Engineer to join their team in East Yorkshire, covering the Grimsby and Hull area. They offer an impressive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities for the Engineer:

  • Attend pre-contract site meetings with relevant Management as required
  • Ensure that sites are ready and adequate setting out is in place for the arrival of piling rig/ beam gangs. Ensure that pre-start requirements are being met with piling platforms, diversionary works being adequately advanced to meet our proposed start date. Keep in regular contact with Site Agent on progress of works.
  • Check the package of working drawings for cut-off levels, beam lengths and numbers and overall constructional soundness highlighting any design errors to the Design Department
  • Collate information and prepare site paperwork ensuring all information is correct and signed for by the clients representative
  • Prepare and manage the setting out of the pile positions, either personally or in conjunction with the Subcontract Engineer. Establish independent site control to reference the given setting out points
  • Make subsequent visits to the site to check accuracy of work and constructional quality control. Liaise with piling crew, sub contract beaming gang and client's representative ensuring all setting out requirements are being met to allow consistent progression of works.


  • Background in Setting Out Engineering is preferred
  • Construction Civil industry experience is essential
  • Relevant Construction certificates required for on site.
  • They would consider a Site Engineer who is looking to move into this field
  • Full clean driving license is required
