The company are world leaders within their field and supply the Automotive, Aerospace, Power Generation industries with their niche products on a global scale. Due to continued success they are looking to recruit an experienced Process Improvement Engineer to join them.

Job Summary:

This position will involve providing technical support, identify and implement improvements within manufacturing processes to optimise process performance and capability and minimise rejections.

Key responsibilities:

Provide support for all company employees, external customers or suppliers with regard to process performance and product quality and conformance to both internal and external specifications.

Carry out root cause analysis, identify and record sources of special cause events and process variation that has the potential to affect quality.

Identify and implement corrective and preventative actions specifically designed to improve product conformance.

Carry out systematic and periodic review of production systems and processes to ensure adherence with Standard Operation Practices.

Create and modify standard operating procedures as required to help improve product conformance to specification and process availability.

Ensure that any documentation created complies with company quality system as appropriate.

Report agreed KPI's relating to department performance against benchmark or targets, where specified.

Keep up to speed with developments in new and current technology relative to the company's production process and identify ways this technology can be used.

Requirements:

Degree qualified - Mechanical Engineering / Materials Science / Metallurgy

Proven experience of working in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of root cause analysis
