The company are an exciting business who are starting to lead the way in offering their customer base a unique product that is bespoke to their requirements. Due to increase workload they now have a key requirement for a Lead Process Engineer to join their team in Nottingham.

Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer as a member of the engineering team, the Lead Process Engineers main function is the production of process design related documents for all of the projects undertaken by the company, ensuring that deadlines are met and relevant legislation, class rules and budgets are adhered to.

During the design phase of the project you will be part of a multi-disciplined engineering design team and close cooperation with the Mechanical Design Engineer and Electrical Controls & Instrumentation Engineers to ensure that the overall design solution produced meets the client requirements, is essential.

You will be responsible for supporting Chief Technical Officer in the control of process design related documents for all of the projects undertaken by the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering on KPI's. Meet process design deliverable KPI's. Take corrective and preventative action when performance falls short of target.
  • Product Development. Developing the process aspects of the existing product offering; to value engineer standard products to increase profitability without loss of quality
  • Specification change authorisation. You will process design of any change to specification, highlighting the potential impact of this change to the project and company.
  • Support the team in meeting the company design deliverable standards. You will be responsible for taking the conceptual process design, to produce, and deliver the process design package to the projects team. You will also be responsible for ensuring all process designs are compliant with legislative and class requirements.
  • The job profile is a non-exclusive compilation of duties carried out by this role and other tasks appropriate to the roles skills and experiences may be required from time to time.


  • Process engineering background required.
  • Applicants will need to be proficient in P&ID and AutoCAD
  • Process Design
  • Preferably qualified in a Mechanical or Chemical discipline.
  • Excellent Project Management ability
  • Used to working alongside a varied white collar team of engineers
