An award-winning design and innovation consultancy based in London are seeking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. Based in London, this is a permanent role offering a starting salary of up to £70,000, 23 days holiday (and bank holidays), pension, private healthcare insurance, life assurance, income protection and annual pay review.

As Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Interpreting client briefs, writing proposals, planning and resource planning.
• Managing the client relationship including presenting ideas and design reviews and maintaining strong communication channels throughout the duration of the project.
• Planning project resource, allocating work to staff and subcontractors and leading projects to ensure deadlines and budgets are adhered to.
• Steering inventive, appropriate and practical technical concepts and assessing their feasibility.
• Developing concepts into reliable and robust designs, prototypes and managing testing activities.
• Overseeing the detailing and documentation for manufacture; including engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications.
• Checking control documents including presentations, reports and schedules.

To be a successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will have:

• Proven experience as an Engineering Consultant, Mechanical Design Engineer, Senior Consultant or Engineering Lead within the medical device sector.
• Qualified to at least bachelor's degree in Physics, Mechanical, Electronics or Aerospace Engineering (PhD, MSc, MEng, BEng or BSc preferred).
• Experience working within new product development ideally from a design consultancy or medical devices background.
• Ability to review and correct mathematics, physics and engineering calculations and analysis.
• Proficiency in modern 3D CAD packages such as Solidworks or CREO.
