A global manufacturing company, with their UK base in Birmingham, are looking to appoint an experienced Development Technician within the engineering department. The company have recently been awarded some significant contracts which will see revenues increase for 2018 and new products released into their portfolio.
Scope of the role:
The main job purpose of the Technician is to make sure the Development department implements and maintains the global engineering APQP process with respect to new product introduction under the guidance of the development engineer.
As the Development Technician you will be tasked with:
Adhere to engineering prototype launch systems and processes.
Ensure all prototype builds meet customer expectations.
Building and testing pumps to a high quality standard.
Calibration of instrumentation.
Test rig set up
Capable of using gauges, verniers, micrometers and hand tools.
Support evaluation of new test fixtures or test rig enhancements prior to procurement.
The ideal Development Technician will possess the following:
Minimum of HNC within Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
Capable of using lathes, millers and grinders.
Experience within a similar role either Fitter, Technician or Maintenance.
An appreciation of electrical systems would be advantageous
Exposure to the automotive, aerospace or industrial sector.

37 hour working week - 8.00am - 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am - 1.00pm on Friday.
