A global manufacturing company, with their UK base in Birmingham, are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Buyer into the business. The company have recently been awarded some significant contracts which will see revenues increase for 2018 and new products released into their portfolio.
As the Senior Buyer you will be tasked with:
Negotiate with the supplier base on behalf of the company on commercial issues and passing any issues to the Supply Chain Manager for ratification.
Source and procure production items at the most advantageous terms based on commodities owned.
Identify and develop alternative sources and technologies to support improvements and company profitability.
Maintain department budget and cost saving plan.
Resolve supplier issues as they arise.
Ensure that all commercial activities of the department are conducted in a legal and ethical manner.
Adhere to company policies and procedures including TS16949, ISO14001 etc.
The ideal Senior Buyer will possess the following:
Relevant qualifications and experience within a supply chain function.
Experience of buying electronics for manufacturing is highly advantageous for this role.
Automotive supply chain.
Management of PPAP.
