The opportunity of Resident Engineer would suit a trained Vehicle Technician, Master Technician, HGV Technician, Roadside Recovery or similar.
Their products are becoming more advanced and diagnostic, electric skills are highly desirable.
Responsibilities of the Resident Engineer:
Servicing and repair of material handling equipment.
Ordering of parts as efficiently as possible & ensuring all stock levels/movement records are accurate & correct
Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately & within the stipulated time period & with the relevant order numbers
Manage own work-in-progress
Maintain a safe working environment & work in a safe manner
Report any unsafe practices or potential hazards immediately
To maintain familiarity with policies & procedures & adhere to these. E.g. IT Policy, absence policy, etc.
Attend training courses to maintain up-to-date knowledge of equipment
Requirements of the Resident Engineer:
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance, Plant or similar is essential
- Served full apprenticeship
- Workshop Engineers, Workshop Technicians, Vehicle Technicians, Master Technicians, Mechanics, Plant Fitters, Roadside Recovery, Agricultural Engineers, FLT Engineers are all considered
- Technical experience in Engines, Electrics, and Diagnostics is compulsory.
