Professional Technical is seeking a Senior Design Engineer
for a leading automotive manufacturer in the East Midlands. This is an ideal opportunity for those passionate about the motor industry—cars or motorbikes—and with proven experience in automotive design. Whether you're an established Senior Design Engineer or bring extensive industry experience, we want to hear from you.
Role Summary
You'll lead the design and development of vehicle components—especially chassis and powertrain—ensuring projects meet time, cost, quality, and specification requirements. As a senior team member, you'll handle more complex technical tasks and play a key role in cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Deliver component design (chassis/powertrain) to defined targets.
- Liaise with specialists and chief engineers to meet project goals.
- Ensure alignment with cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
- Collaborate across teams and suppliers to enhance efficiency.
- Support project planning and risk escalation.
- Assist with additional projects and duties as required.
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Advanced proficiency in CREO and surface modeling.
- Automotive/motorcycle industry design experience preferred.
- Strong technical, detail-oriented, and communication skills.
- Ability to meet critical deadlines and performance targets.
