Senior Design Engineer

An ambitious consumer start-up brand is looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer to help take their flagship product from advanced prototype to global production—and lead the development of future products that challenge convention and deliver real impact. Based in London, you will benefit from a starting salary of up to £70k plus equity and the opportunity to be at the start of an exciting new sustainable product.

As Senior Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in finalising product design for manufacture and assembly, while shaping the roadmap for future innovations. Responsibilities will include;

• Leading end-to-end product development from concept to production.
• Refining designs for tooling release and efficient manufacturing.
• Benchmarking user experience and optimising consumer touchpoints.
• Transitioning R&D into scalable production systems.
• Collaborating in-office with the engineering team, with occasional travel to the contract manufacturer in China.

Key skills needed for the Senior Design Engineer:

• Highly experienced in product development with a strong engineering or technical background.
• Deep curiosity for how things work—and how they could work better.
• Proven track record of bringing products to market.
• Passion for user-centred design and elegant engineering solutions.
• Expertise in Solidworks.
• Fluency in DFMA and DFMEA methodologies.
• Self-starter mindset and sleeves-rolled-up attitude.
• Collaborative spirit and respect for team dynamics.
