The company are a global leading manufacturing company situated in Burton Upon Trent. Their head office in the UK is an impressive building, with a full training facility on site. Due to continued expansion, they now have a rare opportunity for an internal Technical Service Engineer to join the business. They offer a competitive basic salary circa to £30k to £35k with Annual Bonus, Hybrid Working (3 days in the office and 2 days at home per week), 25 days holiday + bank holidays, Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme, Life Cover, Medical Cover, ongoing training and development.

Being directly responsible for the management and preparation of technical quotations. Providing technical advice to both internal and external customers. Maintaining good customer service levels with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities of the Technical Service Engineer:

  • To be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative as well as part of the wider team
  • You will be able to understand the company's Products/portfolio (training will be provided)
  • Managing quotations in their CRM system
  • Responsible for selecting the correct products to meet customers’ and application requirements
  • Preparing Technical Quotations and Sales offers within agreed SLA’s
  • Prepare calculations for customers for the life cycle cost of the product
  • Understanding legislative requirements within certain engineering industries
  • Checking Technical confirmations from the factory to ensure they meet customer requirements
  • Technical Support to both internal and external customer’s
  • Liaise with the Management team, Industry, and Group compliance teams
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers
  • Attend and support at Exhibitions as required
  • To impart technical advice to the client or obtain further advice and report back to the client.
  • To uphold the Company values and vision across all stakeholders in line with their Code of Conduct

Requirements for the Technical Service Engineer:

  • Technical Service Engineering or Technical Sales background is required
  • Applicants will need to have worked with a product range for an engineering or manufacturing company
  • Preferably a technical engineering qualification (City & Guilds HNC etc) for not essential
  • Be a confident communicator who has worked with Field Service Engineers, Sales Teams and the Customer.
  • Experience working with National Accounts, Key Accounts or Project Management capabilities are all highly desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of both Word and Excel
