As a key member of our System Development team, the Toolmaker will have full responsibility for the manufacture of fuel cell production components, ensuring demands are achieved, including part line side inspection. Working closely with the Engineering & Manufacturing Development teams you will ensure that design for manufacture is applied to minimise manufacturing and assembly times and cost reduction.
You will deliver best practice during manufacture and delivery of quality checked components, applying attention to detail, a cleanliness culture and working within EH&S standards at all items.
You will design and manufacture any associated tooling, jigs and fixtures and document manufacturing processes, build and component test procedures to enable seamless handover to production.
Requirements for the Toolmaker:
You will have completed a mechanical engineering apprenticeship and hold a City & Guilds (or equivalent). An ONC or HNC is desirable but not essential.
With proven experience as a Toolmaker and/or precision engineering, you will be able to operate and maintain press machinery and be conversant with all traditional machining and fitting practices. Ideally you will have experience of working with a CAD-CAM package.
You will have the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment.
As a Toolmaker you must also be able to work collaboratively with high quality standards and an excellent attention to detail. You will be able to work on your own initiative and manage your time effectively.
